Electrical Testing

We carry out all types of electrical safety testing for homeowners, landlords, letting agents throughout Isleworth, Twickenham, Richmond, Kew and the surrounding areas. All instructions are tested to meet BS 7671 requirements for electrical installations (IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition). If you like some advice on testing and what your situation requires call Guj on 0203 292 1393.

Have you had your electrics tested in the last 10 years?

It is recommended that you have your electrics tested at least every 10 years, more often for rented accommodation. If you have not then we recommend you have them tested ASAP to see if you or your tenants are at risk of electric shock or fire.

What is periodic testing?

Periodic Testing will:

  • Reveal whether any of your electrical circuits or equipment are overloaded
  • Find any shock risks and fire hazards in your electrical installation
  • Identify any defective DIY work
  • Highlight any lack of earthing or bonding
  • Identify any circuits that need R.C.D protection

What do you receive after the testing?

A periodic testing report of 7 pages, which will grade the installation as either satisfactory or unsatisfactory for ongoing use.

If the report is unsatisfactory it means remedial work is recommended to make the installation safe to use. The observations section of the report details any items that don’t comply with BS 7671 and they are coded as below to help you understand how urgent the remedial work is.

1. Code 1: Danger Present (Risk of injury immediate action required)
2. Code 2: Potentially Dangerous (Urgent action required)
3. Code 3: Improvement recommended
